Relief work

Our relief work is focused primarily on the Turkana tribe in Northern Kenya. The Turkana people are nomadic and the region is a semi-arid desert. Due to the change of climate, almost every year they go through a period of drought and we aim to help bring relief and sustainability. We host medical camps, drill water wells, host kids camps and bring food drops to the villages we work in.

“You can give a man a fish and THEN teach him how to fish, you know. And it’s a lot easier to learn how to fish when you aren’t starving”. -loresjoberg

Self Sustainability

While relief work is needed in order to meet the immediate needs of those facing a crisis, we also aim to bring self-sustainability in all we do. We partner with established churches on the ground who are Kenyan led and have been reaching the Turkana tribe with the gospel for over 20 years to implement programs and trainings. While the Turkana people have beautiful customs that are being preserved, there are also harmful traditions that are causing injustices. Also, because of tribal war and harsh weather conditions, destruction has been caused over the years and we see God is bringing redemption to this tribe. We are simply a support to come alongside and help create solutions they are asking for and in need of which will empower, dignify and restore.

Turkana Audio Bible Devices

Last year we partnered with MegaVoice to bring the Turkana bible to villages through these solar powered devices. Most of the people in the villages we work in only speak Turkana and can not read or write. And this is why these devices are so life changing! We brought 12 of these to villages with hundreds of people and they’re now asking for more. $50 helps cover the cost for the device, shipping and getting it into the hands who desperately need it most. You can donate below to help make this possible.
